Food for Thought is a program which is an official campaign designed by Animal Place to help animal shelters and rescue organizations adopt animal-friendly menu policies for their shelter-sponsored events.
In addition to dogs and cats, shelters may rescue other animals – farmed animals – like rabbits, horses, goats, pigs and sheep. As with any shelter, they strive to find forever homes for the animals they save. Yet, it may still be common to find that similar animals are served as the fare at their functions.
We would like to see these organizations open their hearts to all creatures and get animals off the menu. The Animal Advocates have been reaching out to local rescues and shelters asking them to adopt animal-friendly (animal product-free) menus for their events.
